New Hampshire Lottery Enjoys Weekend of Winning, with Two New Hampshire Powerball Players
in Manchester and Portsmouth Winning $1 Million Each; Plus Four $10,000 Winners in Powerball
and Mega Millions, and one Hot Lotto winner of $9,000

Ticket Sales for Week Totaled over $9.3 Million; Generating More than $500,000 in Revenue to Lottery Retailers,
and More Than $2.4 Million to Education

CONCORD, N.H. – Despite no one in New Hampshire winning Powerball’s record-breaking jackpot of $590.5 million, two $1 million tickets were sold in the Granite State in Saturday (5/18) night’s drawing.

The $1 million tickets were sold at Bunny’s Superette in Manchester, and Exit 3 Travel Stop in Portsmouth.  In addition, it was a lucky weekend for other New Hampshire players, who won more than $300,000 in lower prizes, according to lottery officials. This included four lucky players who won $10,000 each, and one player who won $9,000.

“It was quite a winning weekend for lottery players, retailers, and the state of New Hampshire!” said Charlie McIntyre, Executive Director of the New Hampshire Lottery.  “Tickets sales for the week totaled more than $9.3 million, up from an average of around $6 million.  This is great news for the state of New Hampshire, as the net profit from ticket sales is earmarked for education, and last week’s rolling jackpot generated $2.4 million to education.  We are on a roll with ticket sales for the year, and are currently up 11% over last fiscal year.”

Lower-tier winners include:

Thaddeus Frazier of Deerfield won $9,000 in Friday’s (5/17) Hot Lotto game.  He purchased his winning ticket at the Candia General Store.

Merquiades Vidal of Nashua won $10,000 in Saturday (5/18) night’s Powerball drawing.  She bought her ticket at Sally’s Food Market in Nashua.

Jessica Meyer of Cape Neddick, Maine, won $10,000 in Saturday (5/18) night’s Powerball drawing.  She bought her ticket at Cumberland Farms in Rochester.

Other lower-tier winning tickets were sold at the following locations and have yet to be claimed:

$10,000 Mega Millions ticket was sold at Cumberland Farms on Main St. in Concord (Friday, May 17)

$10,000 Powerball ticket was sold at Circle K on Pleasant Street in Berlin

Saturday’s Powerball jackpot was the largest Powerball jackpot ever in the history of the game.  The winning ticket was sold in Florida.  The winning numbers were 10, 13, 14, 22, 52 and the Powerball was 11.

“Despite the big Powerball jackpot being won in Florida, New Hampshire players got to share in that prize, which is always great!” said McIntyre.  “Our lottery retailers made close to half a million dollars in lottery sales commissions alone.  Combine that with the $2.4 million to education, and I would say we had a great week here in New Hampshire!”

Teens Robbed of I-pod/Cell Phone

MANCHESTER, NH- On Monday, February 11, 2013, at about 6:30 PM, Manchester Police responded to a Clay Street address for a report of a robbery.  On arrival, they met with two 16 year old Manchester teens who reported they had been the victims of a robbery a short time earlier on Somerville Street, near Belmont Street.

According to the boys, they were walking in the area when they were approached by two men, one of whom demanded their belongings, indicating his companion had a gun, although no gun was observed.

One of the boys surrendered his I-pod Nano and Galaxy S3 cell phone and the men left.  They were last seen leaving the area as passengers in an older, dark colored 4-door sedan operated by a third individual who was possibly wearing a red sweatshirt.

The first suspect was described as a white male in his forties, about 6’3” tall with a slender build and dark “stubble” on his face.  He was last seen wearing a dark colored vest and a green “beanie” style hat.  The second man, alleged to have possessed a gun, was described as a clean-shaven white male in his forties with an average height and build.  He was last seen wearing a camouflage shirt and khaki pants.
