(Hour 1a) In July of 2013, Amy Wyman’s husband Don was assaulted by a mental healthcare patient at the Elliot Hospital.
Amy talked about the assault, the permanent injuries her husband still suffers from and the mental healthcare reforms that are still needed in Manchester and across the state.
Wyman believes an increase in lawsuits, including her own, helped expedite new MHS expenditures in NH, but the improvements are not enough.
The mentally ill are still waiting in lines that are much too long for beds that are much too few.
(Hour 1b) Wyman discussed her upcoming court case, the cuts to MHS during Governor Lynch’s tenure that harmed valuable outpatient services and the ineffective, inefficient systems that are long overdue for reform.
