Ela Ramsey of the Miles Smith Farm Beef Pork Mix introduced us to Christina Murdock of LAVender Veterinary Services. She’s a large animal veterinarian that makes farm calls (think house calls). She walks us through what she looks for when she is checking up on a farmer’s livestock and helps us understand what to ask and look for when we check out our local farms. She also answered questions on the use of growth hormones and antibiotics in animals and discussed what their diets and daily routines needed to be to ensure they’re really tasty!
