“We are not making the teachers out to be villains,” Rich said in response to a teacher’s Facebook post, he said demonstrated the problems with how this issues is being handled by teachers and their union.  Rich warned of the danger of the “math deniers” who are pushing the teachers’ contract despite the numbers.  He also gave some important history about how we got to this point.  Believe it or not, it starts in 2009 when Mayor Frank Guinta‘s proposed employee furloughs to deal with severe budget issues and how then Alderman Ted Gatsas got involved in the issue.   THIS is information you won’t get anywhere else and it will put the contract battle in a totally different light.
