(Hours 2a,b,3a) After talking about her book, Doctor Julianne Cooper gave us a very interesting lesson about Mexico before moving on to today’s big topic: Christopher Columbus. She told us about where they were in their understandings of the world at that point.
(Hour 2b) Dr. Cooper continued where she left off and discussed the role of religion in Columbus’s discovery. She touched on how people saw the Native Americans and why Christopher Columbus received so much acclaim.
(Hour 3a) Dr. Cooper talked more about religion’s part in the matter and spoke about the move of immigration at the time. She shared some of the differences between what happened with Christopher Columbus and what is commonly thought about him . Click here for a link to Dr. Cooper’s last visit with us on Columbus Day.
