Sid Glassner

Ann Marie Banfield of Cornerstone joined Sid in the studio to discuss new education legislation.  After a short discussion about President Obama’s State of the Union address and his comments regarding “computer coding” in our schools the conversation turned to the New Hampshire Senate Bill 369 which was introduced by Senator Nancy Stiles and deals with drug and alcohol instruction in our schools beginning in kindergarten.  The bill speaks of “evidence-based substance abuse curriculum” which leaves a considerable  gap in that the curriculum has not been evaluated by those professionals responsible for teaching the topic.  Such knee-jerk political behavior on the part of Senator Nancy Stiles should be thoroughly questioned before it becomes law otherwise the public, once again “gets snookered.”
