(Hours 3a,b,c) Sid GlassnerRich was joined this morning by Sid Glassner, Senior Fellow with the New England Society for the Study of Education, for Is Our Children Learning.  He started the segment by talking about his absence from the show for the last two weeks.  He spoke about incompetency within the educational world.  He then gave an update on the ESSA’s waver provision and talked to Rich about having a healthy skepticism.

(Hour 3b) Sid and Rich discussed the inclusion of technology within schools.  We heard about computer usage at school and performances on digital tests.  They discussed the mastering of skills and wondered why elementary schools are learning how to code.

(Hour 3c) To start the final segment of the hour we took a call from DJ Dave Martinez of DJ Dave Entertainment regarding a statement made by Tom Raffio concerning the Smarter Balanced Assessments.  We heard about the grading of parents and more.  Tune in to hear all about it.
