Developers seek commercial expansion on Old Bedford Road

Abutters and residents oppose urbanization of Old Bedford Road area Will “commercial creep” raise property taxes while decreasing the property values of existing residential property in the area? Will mixed-used zoning have the potential to increase the school population more than can already be accommodated? Will the increase in commercial ventures on Old Bedford Road cause additional traffic on route 101 during rush hour? Will these commercial efforts effect a change in the rural flavor of the Town of Bedford? Submitted recently was a citizens petitioned warrant article for consideration to be placed on the March town ballot. The request is to change three lots on Old Bedford Rd. with a combined area of 19.55 acres, from Residential & Agricultural (R&A) to Commercial (CO). The three contiguous parcels proposed for rezoning include 18 Olde Bedford Way (3.88 acres), 20 Olde Bedford Way (3.65 acres), and 24 Old Bedford Road (12.02 acres). All of the parcels currently include single-family homes built between 1977 and 1986. This citizens petitioned warrant article was submitted by a planning board member, Attorney Karen McGinley, after requests for zoning variances by Attorney Karen McGinley, Devine Millimet & Branch, Chris Rice, T. F. Moran, and Gary Beaulieu, and Old Bedford Road Realty, LLC were abandoned. There are at least 9 abutters, along with many other residents, who do not agree that this zoning change should be...

Republicans Help Democrats Squash First Amendment

In a previous article, we listed all the Republicans who voted with the Democrats to allow the US Constitution to be opened up to unknown changes including the repeal of the Citizens United decision, which would mean only unions and media consortia (Soros, etc) would have the ability to bundle money. These Republicans also voted WITH DEMOCRATS, to KILL HCR1, a call to RESCIND all calls for an Article V Convention. It is now even MORE important that you tell your NH SENATORS to KILL HCR2 and SB 136 when they go before the Senate. Republicans Who Voted for Dem “Con Con” HCR2

The following is a list of NH House Republicans who voted for the Democrat “Con Con” bill HCR2. The bill calls for an Article V Convention and was filed by Democrats Rep. T. Smith, Hills 17; Rep. Theberge, Coos 3; Rep. Massimilla, Graf 1. It is no secret that hundreds of progressive groups, bolstered by funding from WolfPAC, a superpac founded by progressive talk host Cenk Uygur, and supported by Larry Lessig, liberal Harvard professor, have been calling for a convention since 2009. Included in that list are groups like the Sierra Club, Code Pink, Alliance for Progressive Values, MoveOn, and “Occupy,” all who have been pushing for a convention. In a book called Constitution 2020, one can see and imagine how the US Constitution might be rewritten to include social contracts. Experts such as Thomas Woods and Edwin Vieira say there is no way to limit the convention to just one issue. Learn who is holding hands in the effort. Excerpt: A current main page story outlines Lessig’s annual New Hampshire Rebellion walk which addresses the Left’s #1 priority, campaign finance reform. It is promoted as being anti-corruption, which no one would argue with, but the actual cause is campaign finance reform, as their site states. Further down the page, you’ll see links to MoveToAmend.org and Wolf PAC, two far Left Con-Con movements: In January, 1999, at the...

Sign the Petition to Stop the “Con Con”

Defend, not amend, the Constitution. Several well-meaning Republicans in NH and the US have joined with many not-so-well-meaning progressive groups in calling for an Article V Convention, also known as a Con Con, Constitutional Convention, or Convention of States. This is being done via filing various resolutions that would call for a convention in each state legislature. The renewed hysteria over amending the constitution seems to have been re-ignited by right-wing talk show host Mark Levin. Levin believes that nullification is not valid way to deflect illegal federal laws, despite assurances from the Tenth Amendment Center and scholars like Thomas E. Woods. Levin and Woods had a recent “disagreement” of sorts, but to date Levin refuses to debate Woods openly on the subject. There is a currently before the NH House a Concurrent Resolution, HCR 1, that aims to stop all calls from passing in this state. The NH Tea Party Coalition is a local NH-only group which includes several conservative groups that have banded together to work on various issues. Groups such as the JBS, the NH Firearms Coalition, and the NH Center for Constitutional Studies, support the position that calling for a “Con Con” would not make the Constitution any more enforceable than it is now, even if the conservatives pushing for it succeeded in keeping progressives amendments out. Constitutional experts such as Dr. Edwin Vieira and...

What’s Wrong With Our Schools?

What’s wrong with our schools? In case you are still wondering why current school improvement efforts have been a failure If you ever wondered about the root cause of the chaos that now prevails in our educational system, wonder no more. Here is a simple example of why our schools no longer focus on literacy, or how they are not really driven by the wishes of the community (taxpayers and parents) as they legally should be. You may have even heard that some school boards will practice limitation of public input, base their final decisions on the advice given to them by the self-described “experts” which come from outside the system, or employ PR firms to get their message out to the parents. We bet most of the parents and taxpayers in Pittsfield and Manchester, two Annenberg partners in NH – there is also a Youth Organizers United in Manchester — have no idea they need to attend these special meetings in order to deal with a PR Firm created by an NGO/foundation that works out of a public university UNH. What this amounts to is The Carsey Institute works to filter their communications to the various school boards. The legality of this is questionable. The truth of the matter is, these “ideas” proffered in these meetings are NOT coming from the people or the parents, but from the...

NH’s Secretary of State Makes Major Admission

NH Secretary of State Bill Gardner has just made a major admission regarding voter fraud. “He has witnessed fraud with his own eyes, Gardner says. He tells anyone who will listen that the problem is real and pervasive. But few are listening.” Why is this so significant? Because for years, the NH Attorney General’s and the NH Secretary of State’s Offices have refused to recognize the hard work done by CNHT Chairman Ed Naile and his volunteers for exposing voter fraud and the conditions that lead to it. But now, Gardner admits he is “powerless to stop such drive-by...

Bedford Residents Have Had Enough

As someone who has been his target in the past, and is proud to be on the list of his three most hated individuals, this writer has observed that the nonsense coming from troublemaker and so-called “Republican” Bill Greiner has gotten out of hand. The people of the Town of Bedford are sick and tired of it. In just the first hour at the polls on September 9, this writer heard at least 3 unsolicited, first-hand horror stories about the threats an intimidation allegedly dished out by Greiner, and the chilling effect it had on their families and businesses. What kind of person harasses women? As a person who has supported Democrats in general elections (Pappas, Shaheen, Nyquist) Greiner takes his business of attempting to expunge good Republicans from the party quite a bit too far using erroneous personal accusations, and possibly libelous stories about law breaking, none of which ever prove true. As seen in articles he has posted on Patch, Greiner said he regretted that longtime Rep John Graham, whom he supported, lost his race because he isn’t pro-life. This of course is not true. It was rather that Graham has had a lukewarm record of supporting the GOP platform, only scoring 60% according to the House Republicans, and only scoring 70% this past year proving that the Republican platform is not at issue here. Greiner also...

Bedford Primary — How Many Democrats Were Posing as Republicans?

Specious accusations against legitimate Republican candidates have little effect In the recent primary election, seven candidates for State Rep from Bedford banded together on a “ticket” to express their support for each other, and for the Republican platform. They did this because many voters have expressed suspicions that Democrats often pose as Republicans in order to be elected, and that the problem is getting worse. There are also certain critics of Republicans, some of whom we note, are actually hypocritically supportive of Democrats themselves. One such person is “Republican” Bill Greiner, a fairly recent mover to NH from New York. Here is our take on the “spin” you may have read from this outsider. Our liberal colonizer lost big when three of our above-mentioned seven candidates — people who likely can actually be counted on to uphold Republican values while serving no personal agenda — came in first, second, and fourth. Greiner’s preferred candidates, some of them unknown to us as Republicans, placed third, fifth and sixth, with the sixth having squeaked in by virtue of only 4 votes. We noticed that a few of Greiner’s picks have traditionally been absent as participants in the Republican party at the local level. One even admitted disagreeing with the Republican platform. Desperate last minute smears fail Despite former New Yorker Greiner’s pathetic attempt to smear our own Linda Gould by pulling a false...
