Merrimack PD Sets Up Permanent Drug Box for Residents

The Merrimack Police Department is pleased to announce that the residents of Merrimack turned in over 240 pounds of unwanted and expired medications this past Saturday as part of the National Drug take-back day sponsored by the Drug Enforcement Administration, Merrimack Police and Merrimack Safeguard. Since the program started a few years ago, over 1,000 pounds of unwanted medications have been removed from local households. The police department would like to thank all of those who participated in this important program.

The Merrimack Police Department would also like to announce that their permanently attached drug box will be in operation 24 hours/ 7 days a week starting May 1st. This box is in lobby of the station and people can now dispose of their unwanted prescriptions at their convenience, no questions asked.
