(Hour 3a) Mayor Ted Gatsas keeps coming back for more.  And it ain’t about the coffee!

Gatsas chatted about local coffee shops.  He also weighed in on the return of  “remarkable” Artie T. at Demoulas Market Basket.  He verbally saluted the employees and loyal customers.

In a discussion about economic development, Mayor Gatsas addressed Bedford St., the new police station, the former Anthem Building on Pond Island Road, the “mega-dorm” proposal for Pearl St. and the waiving of parking fees during the Taste of Downtown & other events.

(Hour 3b) With school opening tomorrow, Mayor Gatsas shared his excitement for STEAM Ahead NH (thanks to all of the hard work by former Mayor Bob Baines), Jr. STEAM Ahead and the Manchester School of Technology.

Gatsas talked numbers with Rich about the costs of expansion at MST.

(Hour 3c) Mayor Gatsas assessed the current contract talks with the Hooksett School Board.  He shared the dishearening details on what he saw at the presentation made by West High School to Hooksett students… that weren’t there.  Can the fence be mended by the new & improved Hooksett SB?

Gatsas shared what he could on the new tentative agreement with the Manchester Teachers Union.  What’s different about this contract?  If it passes, will it be a model for other City Departments?

Gatsas addressed the closing of Bronstein Park during school hours, a move he feels was warranted to protect the students of Central High School and Saint Casimir School.

Also, policing parks, panhandlers and downtown businesses happy with the increased police presence.
