Gibson: Arrested for voter suppression

Gibson: Arrested for voter suppression

On Friday, New Hampshire Attorney General Joseph A. Foster announced that twenty eight year old Carl Gibson, allegedly of 2 6 Summit Street in Concord, turned himself into authorities on Thursday afternoon after a warrant was issued for his arrest.  Gibson has been charged with voter suppression for knowingly attempting to induce voters to refrain from voting in this past Tuesday’s special election for state representative in Rockingham District Thirty Two, which includes the towns of Candia, Deerfield, Northwood and Nottingham.  Gibson is accused of providing a false press release to various news sources generally circulated in the District, alleging that Republican candidate Yvonne Dean-Bailey was dropping out of the race, leaving the impression with voters that the special election was uncontested.  Voter suppression is a class B felony.   Gibson was additionally charged with the class A misdemeanor for distributing a false document purporting to be issued by Dean-Bailey.  He is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday, June 22, in Concord District Court.

Naile: Sure about that address?

Naile: Sure about that address?

The A G’s use of twenty six Summit Street as Gibson’s address caught the attention of Ed Naile, Chairman of the Coalition of N H Taxpayers and anchor of our segment A Question of Voter Fraud.  Naile released a statement saying he couldn’t find Gibson at that address in extensive online searches.   Given that he voted from that address in two thousand twelve and by absentee ballot in two thousand fourteen, Naile said one might think he’d turn up as a resident there, along with the four who did, including Sherri Ferns, F C Holden, Florence Holden and Nate Rees.

In a separate statement, Naile disclosed addresses in Connecticut, Wisconsin, Mississippi, Kentucky and Texas where Gibson is registered to vote as well as a two thousand thirteen arrest history for Gibson in Wisconsin not just to question what his real address is, but to underscore just how wrong the New Hampshire Supreme Court’s recent ruling affirming the Strafford County Superior Court’s redefinition of domicile for voting purposes is given that it invites abuse like this into our election system.  We’ve linked to Naile’s reports, all of which are published in Oh My BLOG! at Girard at Large dot com, and wonder if a guy who cuts down trees for a living can find all this stuff in online searches, why can’t the Attorney General’s Office seem to protect the integrity of our votes in this state.

Fusaris: Gets "big brain " award

Fusaris: Gets “big brain ” award

Put  this one in the Dope of the Week category.  At about quarter of three on Saturday morning, the Hooksett Police Department received a call from forty three year old Lori Fusaris who needed help getting into her apartment on Princeton Drive.  While verifying her identity, Officer Drouin discovered that Fusaris had an extraditable felony warrant for Identity Theft, Larceny & Illegal Use of a Credit Card issued by the Wallingford, Connecticut Police Department.  Fusaris was arrested and charged as a Fugitive from Justice.   Fusaris is being held without bail at the Merrimack County House of Corrections and will be arraigned as a Fugitive from Justice tomorrow morning.  I’m thinking if you have a outstanding warrant for your arrest, calling the cops to get into your apartment might not be the smart thing to do.
