Sid GlassnerRay McNulty, Dean of the School of Education at Southern New Hampshire University returned for his second visit to “Inside Education” resulting in a spirited, informative and stimulating conversation about some of present day challenges in public education.  Among those challenges discussed were about teacher education, teacher professional development, defining and clarifying the language of education and learning theory.  Also discussed was the critical distinction that must be made in between being highly knowledgeable and understanding how to relate that knowledge to students — in other words “the art of teaching” which is so often neglected in the undergraduate and graduate teacher education programs.
