For Immediate Release
MANCHESTER, NH July 20, 2021–The mayoral campaign of Republican Richard Girard released the endorsement of former Alderman and School Committeeman Russ Ouellette, who represented Ward 11 as a Democrat. Ouellette served on the Board of School Committee from 2000 – 2008 and on the Board of Alderman from 2008 to 2012.
In accepting the endorsement, Girard said he respected Ouellette. “Russ is to be congratulated and respected for overcoming alcoholism and rebuilding his life. Many thought he should stay away from public life after his alcoholism caught up with him but he saw it differently in the hopes of making it up to those whom he supported but let down. He proved to be a formidable challenger, proving that people are forgiving when people acknowledge and amend their ways. Russ has remained true to his recovery and stands as an example for others to follow. I am proud to have him on our team!”
Statement of support from former Ward 11 Alderman Russ Ouellette:
Real leadership is not always popular, sometimes controversial, sometimes delicate, and sometimes forceful. Real leadership has been sorely lacking on the third floor at city hall. Rich Girard is the only candidate for the Office of Mayor of the City of Manchester with the experience and track record to make sound responsible decisions, regardless of popularity, political party or special interests. Our current Mayor has been asleep at the wheel on issues such as crime, addiction, education, homeless camps, and taxes. Please join me in supporting Rich Girard for Mayor of Manchester. Rich has the experience and knowledge to be an effective leader from day one to steer the ship in the right direction for the future of the City of Manchester.
