For Immediate Release
MANCHESTER, NH July 22, 2021–The campaign of Manchester Republican mayoral candidate Richard Girard released the endorsement of former Ward 2 School Board Member Debra Gagnon Langton. Langton, a middle school science teacher in a neighboring community, served multiple terms at-Large and in Ward 2 as a Democrat. She chaired the superintendent search committee that recruited Superintendent Dr. Bolgen Vargas and was known for her intense focus on the district’s special education services.
In accepting the endorsement, Girard praised Langton’s focus on students. “Deb didn’t need to wear a button on her lapel that said ‘kids first.” She proved it with every question she asked and every vote she cast. I appreciated her willingness to hold administrators accountable for their actions and the often poor results of their programs. This was especially true of special education. She was easy to work with, even when we disagreed, and always willing to help a fellow board member, parent, student or staff member. It is truly my honor to have her support and I thank her for it.”
Statement of Support from former School Committeewoman Debra Gagnon Langton:
I’m supporting Rich Girard for mayor because I know he does his homework and has a passion for our city and its schools to be the best they can be. I encourage all those who’ve supported me in the past to join me in supporting Rich Girard for mayor!
