For Immediate Release
MANCHESTER, NH July 22, 2021–The mayoral campaign of Richard Girard released the endorsement of Rick Dumont, today. Dumont, who has owned a Century 21 franchise in the city for decades, represented Ward 2 for three terms on the Board of School Committee in the 1990s. He is a Republican.
In accepting the endorsement, Girard said: “Working with Rick was a real joy. He fought hard for the kids and pushed the board not just on academics, but also on the general environment within the schools. He wasn’t afraid to hold administrators accountable, often questioning their claims and seeking data. When it came to spending, he applied his business background effectively. Rick was a friend to parents, students and taxpayers alike and I’m glad to have his support.”
Statement of Support from Rick Dumont, former Ward 2 School Committeeman:
As a business owner for over 40 years and seeing the current issues in Manchester I am endorsing Richard Girard as a candidate for Mayor. I believe that Richard has the knowledge and background to solve issues such as Critical Race Theory which has been infiltrating the public schools and he has already provided many details. I know that Richard will not allow training for teachers and employees of the city of Manchester which degrades any race or promotes any race as better than another. Richard will hold the line on taxes which have been increasing every year. I believe that its time for a change. Make Manchester Great Again!
