For Immediate Release
Manchester, NH August 18, 2022--The campaign of Manchester Republican mayoral candidate Richard Girard released the endorsement of former Ward 12 School Committeeman Eric Fischer, today. Fischer, an electrician by trade, is well known among the city’s youth hockey players and parents, having coached and organized the Clem Lemire Hockey Tournament for elementary school children in grades 3 through 8 in the city’s public and parochial schools for more that two decades before becoming the coach of the Central-West Co-Op hockey team since 2017.
In thanking Fischer for his support, Girard said, “Eric speaks his mind and stands for his beliefs. As important, he’s always been willing to step in and help our city’s youth. His time coaching hockey players and organizing hockey tournaments has been truly valuable to so many of our student athletes. In 2017, when he was asked to take over the defunct Central and West hockey teams and forge a new team, he gladly undertook this tough challenge. Eric has always stood for what’s good for kids in the classroom and on the ice and I’m proud to have his support.”
Statement of support from Coach Eric Fisher, former Ward 12 School Board Member:
I have known, Rich Girard for over three decades. Rich is a fighter and with the continued challenges facing the city and Manchester needs someone to fight for her. His preparation and knowledge of the inner workings of city government, is second to none. He’s a budget hawk who will continue to be a friend of the Tax Cap and implement his plan for efficient and effective policies and services for the city and that’s why I endorse Rich Girard for Manchester’s next Mayor.
