MANCHESTER, NH August 30, 2021–The campaign of Republican mayoral candidate Richard Girard announced the endorsement of former Ward 10 Alderman Phil Greazzo, today. In addition to serving two terms on the board, Greazzo also served a term as a state representative from the ward. He vacated that seat to run for the state senate in District 20. A small businessman, Greazzo and other volunteers established, financed and maintained Peanut Park, the city’s only dog park, on Bass Island. He was known as a budget hawk and often asked tough questions to hold officials accountable.
In accepting the endorsement, Girard praised Greazzo’s grit. “Ward 10 is a difficult place for Republicans to win aldermanic races. Phil may have been the first Republican to every win that seat and he served his constituents well. He did his homework and was a voice of reason for the taxpayers. He worked hard to make things better in his ward and the city. Thanks to him, the historic mayor’s podium was restored and installed in the Aldermanic Chambers. Knowing that I have Phil’s support in this race will make standing behind that podium as mayor all the more an honor. I’m proud to have Phil’s support in this race to restore our city.”
Statement of support from Alderman Phil Greazzo:
For many years, Rich has worked tirelessly for the people of Manchester in an effort to improve the city. For that, I support his effort to become the next mayor.
