MANCHESTER, NH August 31, 2021–The mayoral campaign of Republican Rich Girard released the endorsement of former Ward 6 Alderman Nick Pappas, today. Pappas, a Republican and one of the city’s youngest elected Aldermen, also finished third in the 2012 race for Charter Commission. He was elected Clerk of the Commission by his fellow commissioners. While in office, Pappas strongly supported public safety and the tax cap. A small business person who understands the importance of customer service, he was very attentive to his constituents.
In announcing the endorsement, Girard thanked Pappas for his service. “Nick stepped up at an important time for Ward 6 and the city as a young man with a new family. He made some tough calls that reflected his principles, despite opposition from some in his own party. While one of the more quiet members of the board, when he raised questions or shared his thoughts, he demonstrated his insights into the issues and a desire to get answers in places where accountability was necessary. I’m glad to have his support and thank him for it.”
Statement of support from Ald. Nick Pappas:
In the many years I’ve know Rich, he’s worked tirelessly for the city. There are few who know the city or its issues as well. His record is clear. We can trust him on the tax cap. Public safety will be a priority. His plan for public school choice is a winner and his understanding of the need to improve the city’s socioeconomic demographic is important. If people in Manchester want change they can trust, they can cast their vote with confidence for Rich Girard. He’ll bring the change the city desperately needs.
