MANCHESTER, NH. September 8, 2021–The mayoral campaign of Manchester Republican Richard Girard announced today that retired Brigadier General Don Bolduc will headline a fundraiser for the campaign this Friday, September 10, 2021. Bolduc served 10 tours of duty in Afghanistan leading American Special Forces.
Rather than the usual political stump speech one might expect at a political fundraiser, the Girard campaign said Bolduc will address American National Security in light of our nation’s disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan. To honor those who served in Afghanistan over the past 20 years, Girard said the campaign will donate 20% of all funds raised to three veterans service organizations supported by Gen. Bolduc. Donations are requested, though there is no entry fee.
Said Girard: “These are trying and difficult times for our country, especially for those who served in Afghanistan. We are incredibly honored to have Gen. Bolduc agree to address the many concerns all Americans have about the security of our homeland and our reputation in the world in light of recent events. It is my hope that his first hand knowledge of Afghanistan, his strategic and tactical skills, and his clear eyed understanding of how our alliances work around the world will enlighten those who attend and help us understand what we need to do to recover from this travesty. We are looking forward to a large crowd and the ability to make big donations to the veteran focused service organizations that will benefit by this event.”
