Guest hosts Alderman Nick Pappas and Andrew Provencher opened this morning’s show by talking about the redistricting issues within the Queen City. They discussed what would happen if Central High School was closed, before talking about parking issues.

If you want a solution that is explainable and has some semblance of logic, to tell parents, you close West. Easy access to a super highway makes West a great reuse site. Then you use a latitude line in the city to determine where students go. Live north of the line you go to Central, south of it you go to Memorial. I substitute taught at all three schools in 2011 and the departure of Bedford students from West made it feel like a bit of a ghost town. If they still haven’t solved the equitable population problem and want to save the stated 2.9 million a year, I would look to West.
