Chmiel: Refuses to answer

MANCHESTER, NH  September 24, 2025–Superintendent Jennifer Chmiel is still refusing to answer questions into the conduct of Memorial High School history teacher Jason Paige.  Paige is said to have literally sung and danced for joy in front of his classes following the assassination of conservative leader and civil rights activist Charlie Kirk, while accusing him of being a “Nazi” and wanting transgenders to be “executed,” among other gruesome things.

Girard at Large has learned from various sources that at least some students in Paige’s classes have been interviewed by administrators regarding his conduct.  In an attempt to get an update on the investigation, we sent an email to Chmiel asking:

Any update on the Paige investigation?  Is there a “complete by” date?  What will be released to the public once finished?  What is being done to investigate?
You CAN answer all of these questions without compromising personnel privacy.  The question is whether or not you will.
Despite being able to asnswer these questions without compromising either Paige’s privacy or the integrity of the investigation, she replied:
The investigation remains ongoing and we are making steady progress.  This is all I am able to share at this time.

Paige: Made vile, celebratory comments in classes

It has been thirteen days since Girard at Large brought this unseemly conduct to the Chmiel’s attention.  Paige, according to other news reports, has been placed on paid administrative leave since Friday, September 12, as per district policy regarding employees under investigation.  During that time, Paige deleted the Facebook page with various inflammatory remarks he made about the assassination attempt on President Donald Trump’s life in Butler, PA, among other topics.

Chimel has also refused to answer questions regarding the failure of Hillside Middle School to lower its flags to half mast, as directed by President Trump and Governor Kelly Ayotte.

Girard at Large will continue to share updates as this matter progresses.
