MPD: New Officers to be sworn in

Manchester Police Chief David J. Mara will swear in 11 new police officers on Monday, March 16, 2015 at 10:00 AM.  The swearing in ceremony will be held at the Michael Briggs Police Athletic Center at 209 Beech Street, corner of Lake Ave.  Mara will also present awards to many officers and recognize two Manchester citizens to commend them for their work in the city.

Gregory W. Bachilas

Greg is 26 years old.  He was raised in Shelburne, Vermont, and is a graduate of Champlain Valley Union High School – class of 2007.   He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Castleton State College in Vermont, in 2013.  Greg has most recently been employed as a court officer at the Vermont Superior Court.

 

Eythan B. Caputo

Eythan is 21 years old.  He was raised in Madbury, N.H., and is a graduate of Newfound Regional High School in Bristol, N.H. – class of 2011.   He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of New Hampshire in Durham, in December 2014.  Eythan enlisted with the N.H. Army National Guard in 2011 and is currently assigned to the Recruiting and Retention Command as a Military Instructor.

John P. Connors

John is 23 years old.  He was raised in Winthrop, Mass. and is a graduate of Winthrop High School – class of 2010.   He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Massachusetts-Lowell, in 2014.  John has most recently been employed as a part-time police officer with the York, Maine, Police Department.

Ryan P. Hardy

Ryan is 26 years old.  He was raised in Goffstown, N.H. and is a graduate of Goffstown High School – class of 2007.   He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Hesser College in Manchester, in 2012.  Ryan is a graduate of the 158th N. H. Police Academy and has been employed as a patrolman with the Derry, N.H., Police Department since 2012.

Konrad Jaworowski  

Konrad is 25 years old.  He was raised in Southampton, Mass. and is a graduate of Hampshire Regional High School in Westhampton, Mass. – class of 2007.   He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from St. Anselm College, in 2010.  Konrad is a 2012 graduate of the 157th N.H. Police Academy and has been employed as a police officer with the Goffstown, N.H., Police Department since 2011.

Michael L. Johnson

Michael is 28 years old.  He was raised in Chico, California and is a graduate of Chico Senior High School – class of 2005.   Since 2013, Michael has been studying toward an associate degree in Criminal Justice at Cape Cod Community College in Massachusetts.  Michael enlisted the U.S. Army in 2008 and completed multiple deployments in Iraq during his service.  He was honorably discharged from active service in 2012 at the rank of sergeant.  He currently serves with the Massachusetts U.S. Army National Guard at the rank of Sergeant 1st Class.  Michael has most recently been employed as a loss prevention officer for the K-Mart store in Hyannis, Mass.

Alexander W. Martens 

Alex is 25 years old.  He was raised in Merrimack, NH, and is a graduate of Merrimack High School – class of 2008.  Alex enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 2008 and completed a tour in Afghanistan during his service.  He was honorably discharged in 2012 at the rank of corporal.  Alex is a 2013 graduate of the 160th NH Police Academy.  He has served as a patrolman with the Chesterfield, NH, Police Department since 2012.

Thomas B. McAuliffe, Jr.  

Tom is 39 years old.  He was born in Boston, Mass., and raised in Dorchester and Marshfield, Mass. and is a graduate of Marshfield High School – class of 1994.  Tom joined the U.S. Army in 2003 and completed two tours in Afghanistan during his service.  He was honorably discharged at the rank of Sergeant in 2006.  Tom is a graduate of the 148th NH Police Academy.  He has served as a patrolman with the Bedford Police Department since 2008.

Brianna N. Miano

Brianna is 22 years old.  She was raised in Tewksbury, Mass. and is a graduate of Shawsheen Valley Technical Vocational High School in Bllerica, Mass. – class of 2010.   She is attending the University of Massachusetts-Lowell and is nearing the completion of her studies toward a Bachelor degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology.  Brianna has most recently been employed as a part-time police officer with the Hampton, N.H., Police Department and as a bartender at Thirsty’s Bar & Grill in Tewksbury, MA.

Amanda L. Smith

Amanda is 25 years old.  She grew up in Penacook, N.H., and is a graduate of Merrimack Valley High School – class of 2007.  She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology with a minor in Psychology from Stonehill College in Easton, Mass., in 2011.  Amanda has most recently been employed at Community Resources for Justice in Boston.

Cheryl A. Trudeau

Cheryl is 25 years old.   She was born in Nashua, NH, but moved with her family to West Waterboro, Maine where she graduated from Massabesic High School – Class of 2007.  Cheryl joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 2012 and was honorable discharged in 2013.  She is studying toward a degree in Criminal Justice at New Hampshire Technical Institute in Concord and was named by her professors as the “Outstanding Criminal Justice Freshman.”  Cheryl has most recently been employed as a hostess at the Puritan Restaurant in Manchester.
