Sid GlassnerLegislation, pending, passed, and failed was the focus of today’s discussion Sid had with State Representative, Victoria Sullivan.  Efforts to keep parents well-informed about events and curriculum shaped part of the conversation while opting-out of high stakes testing, and full day kindergarten received considerable attention.  Changing the way the state Commissioner of Education and the state Board of Education members are selected was introduced but failed to get out of committee.  It would have given citizens a wider avenue in which to participate in the process.
