(Hours 3a,b,c) We were joined this morning by Sid Glassner, Senior Fellow with the New England Society for the Study of Education, for Is Our Children Learning. After a little bit of goofing around they touched on the issue of critical thinking. Sid then changed the conversation to our interview with Senator Humphrey (Click here for the archive). He wanted to chime in on what Senator Humphrey said regarding GOP Presidential candidate Governor Kashich’s involvement with Charter Schools.
(Hour 3b) Sid picked up where he left off last week (Click here for the archive) concerning the origin of the Department of Education. He and Rich talked about education being used politically to the disadvantage of the students.
(Hour 3c) Superintendent Livingston said that she was going to explain the PACE assessments after information got out about Parker Varney and Gossler Park’s involvement in the program. Sid and Rich discussed performance assessments and wondered how you can tell how competent a child is. Tune in for all of the details.
