(Hours 3b,c) We were joined by Sid Glassner, Senior Fellow with the New England Society for the Study of Education, for Is Our Children Learning. Sid came on the show to talk to us about the benefits of physical activity in school. He told us that it’s critical for children to get physical activity every day. He commented on the “Wiggle Wiggle Clap Clap” movement and discussed what a sufficient amount of recess looks like.
(Hour 3c) Sid Continued with us for a second segment of Is Our Children Learning. He talked to us about the reauthorization of ESSA (or Every Student Succeeds Act) and we heard Rich state that he will not comply. They told about the cost of taking funds from the government and talked about the energy that this move provides to the opt out movement. Rich asked for evidence of a positive change stemming from an increased involvement from the Federal Government. Tune in to hear more.
