(Hours 3a,b,c) Sid Glassner, Senior Fellow with the New England Society for the Study of Education, talked to Rich about leadership profiles for Is Our Children Learning. They talked about different definitions of leadership and the search for a leader in Manchester.
(Hour 3b) Sid talked to Rich about competency based education. He spoke about a survey that the ACT conducted and pointed out highlights. They discussed accountability and voiced their concerns about the new standards.
(Hour 3c) Rich and Sid continued their discussion regarding the ACT’s survey. Rich talked about one of the repercussions to the testing, within the schools. Finally, they discussed a West Point study, which showed that children tended to get better grades when technology was not allowed.
