(Hour 1b) We ran Jeff Furlotte’s Christmas Chaos Parody with a disclaimer. We genuinely do appreciate Christmas for all the right reasons. Rich does not appreciate what’s happening with the Manchester Academic Standards apparently alligning with too many teachers in the bag for Common Core.

While you’re at it, you might analyze that last agenda for the cancelled Curriculum and Instruction Committee. Three out of four of those grants were for Common Core alignment: Inspiring Kids.org ($5,016); 21st Century Community Learning Centers Project iSucceed ($25,000) and I3 Network Grant ($32,500). The fourth may also be, but I couldn’t find confirmation for Bean Foundation grant ($400).
Proceed to the timeline for adopting Common Core aligned policies from the Common Core aligned district audit. Why are formative and summative assessments needed unless the district is aligning to CC? Links to the strategic plans? That’s where Staub wants to “draw and quarter” students who don’t take the district’s goals “seriously.” Why the “alignment of the curriculum to both state and national standards” ? “Adopt a policy that clearly delineates the curriculum management decisions that are to be made CENTRALLY …” “Link professional appraisal processes with job accountability function and to gains in student achievement.” How’s that? There are no achievement tests, only behavioral assessments like Smarter Balanced.
Common Core….. Common Core….. Common Core….
