Sid Glassner(Hour 3a, b, c)

(Hour 3a) Senior Fellow Sid Glassner offered another take on delaying the opening of school during a deep-freeze.

He and Rich debated the second-guessing of school superintendents.

(Hour 3b) Glassner issued a Public Service Announcement for students making plans to attend college.  Hint: FAFSA can save you plenty of green.

Sid and Rich discussed the skyrocketing costs of getting a college education.

(Hour 3c) Glassner had more to say about costly colleges before our host read the letter by Manchester Teacher Kelley Tambouris on Smarter Balanced Assessment testing and the negative effect of such tests on her students.

Rich and Sid discussed the problems of Common Core’s “joy-killing” and excessive testing.  “The time to stop is now,” asserted Glassner.

We heard about Sid’s plans for the very first episode of “Inside Education,” Glassner’s new show that airs every Thursday at 10am on WLMW 90.7 FM NH Family Radio.  Be sure to tune in!
