(Hour 2b) Jim Gaudet was back in the house for our Public Safety Issue and the latest information on the Weare Police shooting. Has the public’s discontent with their PD reached a boiling point? Are they really planning on privatizing their PD? If so, how would the town go about doing so? Jim also gave us an update on the investigation of the NH State Police shooting of a woman in Manchester.

Hey Rich,
Just listened to this archive. FYI the search for private PD began BEFORE the previous chief resigned. The research by the selectman has been going on for over 9 months. I know this because one of the “brain surgeons” is my husband and he says thank you Rich, you nailed it exactly what some members of the board were intending to do. The reason for backing out of Greystone was not that it was a “bad” idea but that the timing was off and they didn’t want to hire a new chief only to change over to private PD 6 months later. That being said, they have found a highly qualified new police chief for the town of Weare and have utmost confidence that he will help turn things around.
Thanks, Alicia! I appreciate the feedback. Please keep us up to speed. If hubby would like to be a guest on the show, we have an open mic!
I’m sure he’d love to!
