(Hours 3a,b,c) Sid and FredWe were joined this morning by Sid Glassner, Senior Fellow with the New England Society for the Study of Education, and his guest former Board of Education Chairman Fred Bramante for Is Our Children Learning.  Sid and Fred spoke about competency based learning and discussed personalized programs.

(Hour 3b) Rich started the segment by asking Fred a number of questions concerning competency based learning.  Fred, Rich and Sid talked about mastery.  They shared their opinions on the definition and application of mastery within the educational world.  Sid shared his opinion about personalization using technology.

(Hour 3c) Rich wondered what objective data the NH Board of Education can use that shows that education has been improved as a result of moving to competency based learning.  They shared about the drop-out rate, the effect of competency based learning in the classroom and more.
