(Hours 3a,b,c) Rich spoke to Sid Glassner, Senior Fellow with the New England Society for the Study of Education, for Is Our Children Learning.  They discussed Frank Edelblut’s Commissioner of Education hearing, honing in on questioning done by Councilors Andru Volinsky and Chris Pappas.  They talked about relevant experience and Sid shared about whether or not he supports Edelblut.

(Hour 3b) Sid shared his objections to how the Council went about their business within the hearing.  He pointed out areas where one can learn more about their government and they spoke about poor handling of the Commissioner of Education hearing.  They then discussed President Donald Trump’s nomination for Secretary of Education.

(Hour 3c) Rich and Sid were joined by Ann Marie Banfield, who shared her disturbance with Councilor Volinsky’s questioning of Edelblut.  They spoke about Charter School grants under the Obama Administration, the value of experience and debated about the motives of those who have not necessarily improved the state of education.
